The Curry family has been long time farmers in Northwest Ohio for many generations. I knew the agriculture industry was my only route for optimal success. Ever since I can remember, I’ve wanted to follow in the Curry family footsteps.
In 2005 I became a Custom Sprayer Operator for a local co-op. After just a few weeks of running a John Deere sprayer, I realized the fence row tips, foam markers, and the ends of the booms were constantly being damaged. The cost to repair those parts, ranged anywhere from hundreds to several thousands of dollars. The destruction to the ends of the booms and tips were also costing me valuable down time in the field.
We knew there had to be a more efficient way to stay running. That’s where we began our journey on inventing the “Boomsaver”. My partner and I decided to design the first metal guard of its kind. Within the last couple years, we started to develop multiple prototypes. Ranging from metal, plastic, fiberglass, and aluminum. After demoing a few different styles and materials. We figured out which product was our best asset. That’s when Joe Collie and I decided we needed to make a business out of our invention.
